Ikuo Hiraishi

Ikuo Hiraishi is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and ecosystem builder who has been shaping Japan's internet and startup landscape since the late 1990s.
He was a co-founder of WebCrew, whose automobile insurance comparison platform became a breakout success and later went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers. In 2000, he co-founded Interscope, an online research startup, and served as its CEO. The company was later acquired by Yahoo! Japan, followed by a merger with Infoplant and Macromill. He later co-launched the Internet Research Forum of Japan, contributing to the early development and expansion of the online research market in Japan.
In 2011, he helped build SunBridge's seed acceleration activities and co founded Innovation Weekend, a global startup pitch and networking platform connecting early-stage founders with angel investors across borders. In 2012, he co-founded SunBridge Global Ventures and served as President & CEO, building an international portfolio spanning the US, Europe, and Japan. His representative investments include Peatix, Japan's leading social ticketing and community management platform; WHILL, a design-driven personal mobility startup; and AnyRoad, backed by Andreessen Horowitz. He also played a key role in launching Infarm, a Berlin-born indoor urban farming unicorn, in Japan and served as Managing Director of Infarm Japan.
Alongside his entrepreneurial career, he has been deeply committed to education and talent development. He has served as Visiting Professor at Hosei University MBA, Professor at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship at Musashino University, and as an outside director and mentor to numerous startups.
In 2026, he re-launched DreamVision with a clear mission: "We empower bold challengers to bring courage, confidence, and hope to the world."
